Larry Roberts (Mississippi)
Larry E. Roberts was a judge serving on the court of appeals (District 3, Position 1) in Mississippi. He was appointed to this position by Governor Haley Barbour and took office on January 4, 2006.[1] In April 2015, he announced his intent to retire on June 30, 2015. Governor Phil Bryant appointed Jack Wilson to serve for the remainder of Roberts' term.[2][3]
Education
Roberts earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi in 1970. He received his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1973.[1]
Military service
Roberts served with the U.S. Army reserves for 20 years (until 1994), including about a year of active service.[1]
Career
Roberts ran a general law practice in Meridian from May 1973 until December 1978. He was then elected Lauderdale County Court judge. On December 31, 1986, he became a judge on the 10th Circuit Court District. He held this position for 19 years. He then became an appellate judge in 2006.[1]
