Larry Walker (Republican Party) is a member of the Georgia State Senate, representing District 20. He assumed office on December 18, 2015. His current term ends on January 11, 2027.
Walker (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the Georgia State Senate to represent District 20. He declared candidacy for the 2026 election.[source]
Biography
Larry Walker was born in Perry, Georgia and earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 1987. Walker's career experience includes owning and operating Walker Insurance Agency and working as a staff accountant for The Coca Cola Company. He has served on the board of the Methodist Home, the Museum of Aviation, and chaired the Perry Downtown Development Authority, the Middle Georgia Technical College Board, and the Houston County Development Authority. Walker was also president of the Perry Rotary Club and was named Perry Rotarian of the Year in 2004 and 2008. Perry was elected to state senate in 2015 and has served as Caucus Vice-Chairman for the Majority Party. [1]

2015
Senate
A special election for the position of Georgia State Senate District 20 was called for December 1. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was November 4.[6]
The seat was vacant following Ross Tolleson's (R) resignation on November 1, 2015.[7]
Larry Walker (R) defeated Vivian Childs (R), Brooks Keisler (R), Jon Martin (R), James Pettis (R) and Mike Reece (R) in the special election.[8][9]
House
A special election for the position of Georgia House of Representatives District 146 was called for July 14.[10] A runoff election took place on August 11. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3.[11]
The seat was vacant following Larry O'Neal's (R) resignation to become the chief judge on the Georgia Tax Tribunal.[12]
Shaw Blackmon (R), Kelly Burke (R) and Larry Walker (R) faced off in a special election.[13] Since no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters, Blackmon and Walker, met in a runoff election, which Blackmon won.[14][15]
