Hedbor filed to run as a Libertarian candidate for attorney general of Oregon in the 2016 election. He competed with incumbent Ellen Rosenblum (D) and Daniel Crowe (R) in the November general election.[4]

Elections for the Oregon House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Jeff Barker was unopposed in the Democratic primary. He also ran as a write-in candidate on the Republican Party and Working Families Party tickets. Lars D.H. Hedbor ran as a Libertarian candidate. Barker defeated Hedbor in the general election.[6][7][8]
