Laura Black was a Democratic member of the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 45. She was defeated in the November 2, 2010, general election.

Black was a candidate for the Utah State House of Representatives in 2004 and 2006, but was not elected in either case. She joined the Utah State House in 2009, representing District 45 until 2011.

Biography

Black is a former teacher at Bingham High School. She has worked for the Jordan Education Association.

Black attended Brigham Young University. She went on to receive her B.S. in family and consumer science/education from the University of Utah.

Elections

2010

Black was defeated by Republican challenger Steven Eliason in the November 2, 2010 general election[1].

2008

On November 4, 2008, Black won election to the Utah House of Representatives, District 45 defeating opponents Brian Monsen (R) and Dave Perry (C).[2]

Black raised $37,160 for her campaign while Monsen raised $39,990 and Perry raised $1,110.[3]
