Laura Johnson is a judge of the New York City Civil Court in New York. She was appointed to this position by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2013, and was re-appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio on December 31, 2014, for a one-year interim term.[1] She was reappointed to a full term by Mayor Bill de Blasio on April 27, 2015. Her current term expires in 2025.[2] She has also been serving in the criminal court.[3]
Education
Johnson received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College and earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.[3]
Career
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Johnson worked in the New York County District Attorney's Office and the Legal Aid Society. She was also an assistant solicitor general.[3]
