Laura Lee Jacobson
Laura Lee Jacobson was a justice of the Kings County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 2nd Judicial District of New York. She was elected to this position in 2003 and her last term expired in 2016.[1][2]
Education
Jacobson received her J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School.[1]
Career
Jacobson began her career in 1974, working for the Harlem Assertion of Rights. In 1975, she joined the law firm of Cammer, Karlsson, Dallow & Parkerton, where she worked until 1977. That year, she also worked on the Public Utility Law Project and was an instructor at Marymount Manhattan College. From 1977 to 1981, she worked as a court attorney for Judge Elliot Wilk. She then practiced law as a partner of the firm Rinsler & Jacobson (1981 to 1989) and as a partner of Weiss & Jacobson (1989 to 1990). She was elected to the New York City Civil Court of Kings County in 1991 and was elected to the supreme court in 2003.[1]
