Why are you running for office?
“ | I was moved to run for the Green Bay School Board because I wanted to get off the sidelines and make a difference in my community. Public education is particularly vulnerable right now and I strongly believe in the importance of public education for our families, our community and our economy.[7] | ” |

What do you consider to be the key issue or issues in this race?
“ | There are three issues that I feel are really important at this moment: 1) Teacher retention — teachers are leaving the profession and the school district is beginning to have a hard time finding teachers to fill positions; 2) I would like to amplify the connection between strong public schools and our local economy. This is an issue that cannot be stressed enough; and 3) I would like to try to change the negative language that currently surrounds any discussion about public education. There are a lot of good things happening in the Green Bay School District every day and I would like the public to be more aware of that.[7] | ” |

What makes you the best-qualified candidate to hold this office?
“ | Rather than say that I am the best-qualified candidate, I would rather just say that if I am fortunate enough to be elected, I will work hard to look out for the interests of our student population. The more I move through the process of campaigning, the more I realize what an enormous job it is to educate more than 21,000 students every day. There is a small army of people in our community who work hard every day to do that job and I have been very impressed and frankly inspired by their dedication. I will do my best to emulate that if I am chosen to serve.[7] | ” |
