In May 2024 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My cancer diagnosis forced me to pause and reflect on how I want to spend my days. I’m running for UA City Council to take direct action to make our community safe and welcoming for people of all backgrounds - both today and well into the future as our population grows.
  • My husband Doug and I moved to Upper Arlington in 2013, and the same qualities that attracted us to UA will continue to bring in more new residents. We have opportunities to build on our infrastructure today to support sustainable, healthy transportation options. Improving our walking, cycling and transit infrastructure will keep our streets from becoming more congested and our air from becoming more polluted. As a member of City Council, I will plant the seeds for UA’s tomorrow by focusing on sustainable solutions to develop our community with health and well-being at the forefront.
  • As our population grows and new residents are attracted to UA, a common thread of concern I’ve heard while volunteering is that new residents struggle to find their sense of belonging, their people. I will grow a sense of belonging by increasing third spaces — such as community gardens and other places to gather outside of home and work — that improve well-being and offer opportunities for both new and established residents to meet in person to strengthen relationships with each other and the community.
  • As a small business owner for the last 15 years I’ve worked with municipalities, businesses and nonprofits of all shapes and sizes to support their marketing and communications needs. My strengths in creativity and empathy will help me nurture a resilient community prepared for extreme weather and the climate-related challenges that come with continued population growth.
I'm especially passionate about prioritizing sustainability in all decision making. I care about putting people, not cars, at the forefront of planning. I know that by improving our walking, cycling and transit infrastructure, people are more likely to better connect with both each other and the community as a whole.
I look up to my friends who have stepped up to hold local office, and I'm trying to gain their confidence via osmosis.
Honesty, trustworthiness and empathy are three of the most important characteristics for an elected official to possess.
As a small business owner, creativity and empathy are two of my biggest strengths.
To put the health and well-being of the community and the people in the community at the forefront of all planning and decision making.
I want to leave Upper Arlington a more welcoming, inclusive community that puts health and well-being at the forefront of all decisions.
I'm sure I can come up with something slightly more interesting, but right now Dan Quayle's "potatoe" incident from when I was 10 is popping into my brain.
I started working at my mom's law firm in sixth grade and helped with admin work. I worked at the office on and off until I graduated from college.
All information should be readily available to anyone who requests it. Transparency is incredibly important to me.
