Laura Sterling
Laura Sterling was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of South Carolina.[1]
Sterling was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 120 of the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent James Clyburn (D) defeated Laura Sterling (R), Rick Piotrowski (Libertarian), and Prince Charles Mallory (Green) in the general election on November 8, 2016. No candidate faced a primary opponent.[2]

2012
Sterling filed to run in the 2012 election for South Carolina House of Representatives District 120. She would have faced Jerry Stewart and Weston Newton in the Republican primary on June 12, but resigned. Incumbent William Bowers (D) did not run for re-election.[3]
