Laura Thomas (Minnesota)
Laura Thomas is a judge for Position 51 of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District. She assumed office on June 30, 2020. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.
Thomas ran for re-election for the Position 51 judge of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Thomas was appointed to the court by Gov. Tim Walz (D) on May 14, 2020, to replace retiring judge Ivy Bernhardson when she left the court on June 30, 2020.[1]
Biography
At the time of her appointment to the court, Thomas was teaching as a clinical law professor and serving as the director of law clinics at the University of Minnesota Law School.[2] The following is an outline of Thomas' education and career.
