Laurie A. Fontaine was Judge No. 5 for the Northeast Judicial District of North Dakota. She was first elected to the bench in 1998.[1]

Fontaine won re-election to a new six-year term in 2016. She resigned from the court on January 29, 2021 in order to return to private practice.[2]

Fontaine earned her B.S. in social science at Mayville State University in 1978 and her J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1983.[1]

Fontaine was re-elected to the Northeast Central Judicial District of North Dakota. She received 99.52 percent of the vote.[3]
