Biography
Laurie Schlegel graduated from Dominican High School. Schlegel earned a degree from Louisiana State University and an M.A. in marriage and family counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Her career experience includes working as a counselor with Lighthouse Counseling Center.[1]

A special primary election for Louisiana House of Representatives District 82 was called for March 20, 2021. A special general election was scheduled for April 24, 2021.[2] The candidate filing deadline was January 27, 2021.
The seat became vacant after the resignation of Charles Henry (R) on January 12, 2021.[3]
