Laurie Schley is a former District 3 representative on the Comal board of trustees in Texas. First elected in 2014, Schley ran for re-election on May 6, 2017.

When elected to the board in 2014, Schley worked as a business development specialist with RMP Trade Credit. She was also the owner of Canyon Engineering and Environmental Services. Schley has also worked as a substitute teacher. She was a member of PTAs and booster clubs at district schools starting in 2002.[1] Schley has two children who attended district schools.[2]

Two of seven seats on the Comal Independent School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on May 6, 2017. Incumbent Laurie Schley lost to former board member Jason York in the race for District 3. In District 4, incumbent Denise Kern was unopposed in her re-election bid. Due to lack of opposition, the District 4 election was canceled and Kern was automatically re-elected.[3][4]

Schley previously ran for the District 3 seat in the May 10, 2014, general election, challenging incumbent Jason York and former candidate Ken Adkins. She won the seat and was sworn in on May 22, 2014.[5]

I want our children and teachers to have a voice, as well as parents. I believe I can make a different and continue to make Comal ISD a great district.
