This measure sought to add to the current school levy by a rate of $.05 per $100 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to further pay for renovation and improvement costs in the school district.[2]

The question on the ballot:
n Additional tax for the benefit of the Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District (also known as Collins Career Center), Counties of Lawrence and Gallia, Ohio, for the purpose of IMPROVEMENTS, RENOVATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO SCHOOL FACILITIES, AND PROVIDING EQUIPMENT, FURNISHINGS AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS THEREFOR, at the rate not exceeding one-half (0.5) mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to five cents ($0.05) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
