Lawrence Scott is a political consultant and works as a part-time administrator in the Anne Arundel State Attorney’s Office. He ran a political consulting firm with his wife called Scott Strategies Inc., and has contributed to numerous campaigns, including Rick Perry’s 2012 presidential campaign.[1][2] He was mentioned as part of the "Influencers 500" list produced by Campaigns & Elections Magazine in 2013 (according to Campaigns & Elections, the list "is a collection of some of the top names in the consulting business state by state").[3]

Career

Lawrence Scott attended the University of Maryland, where he received a B.S. in electrical engineering. He then went on to obtain a Master of Laws (LLM) from Georgetown University Law Center, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and a law J.D. from Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law.[1] He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1998.[4]

In 2005, Scott’s wife (Francine Scott) formed a political consulting firm called Scott Strategies, Inc. (both Scott and his wife ran the firm for a number of years). That same year, he contributed to Douglas Burkhardt’s Annapolis City Council campaign.[5][6][7]

Scott joined the boards of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau and American Red Cross - Chesapeake Region - Anne Arundel County in 2007 and 2008.[1][8] In 2011, he became a board member for Leadership Anne Arundel.[1]

Scott served as co-chair and co-finance chair for Rick Perry’s 2012 presidential campaign Maryland leadership team, and he advised Steve Schuh during his Anne Arundel county executive campaign in 2014.[9][2][10]

In January 2015, Scott was hired to work as a part-time administrator in the Anne Arundel State Attorney’s office.[4]
