Lawrence Talon was a judge of the Michigan 3rd Circuit Court. He left office on April 15, 2022.

Talon ran for re-election for judge of the Michigan 3rd Circuit Court. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Talon was appointed to the court by former Governor Jennifer Granholm on August 5, 2010, to replace former Judge Bill Callahan.[1] On November 4, 2014, Talon was re-elected unopposed for another six-year term.[2]

Education

Talon received his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and his J.D. degree from Wayne State University.[1]

Career

Talon worked as an attorney for the law firm of Rowe Talon & Jones and then as an assistant prosecutor for Wayne County prior to his appointment to the 3rd Circuit Court in 2010.[1]

Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association

The DMBA rated candidates running for judicial office in 2012. Candidates were given one of five ratings: Outstanding, Well Qualified, Qualified, Not Qualified or No Rating.

Talon was rated as Outstanding.[3]

Wolverine Bar Association

Talon received a rating of Extremely Well Qualified from the Wolverine Bar Association.[4]

Talon was one of three candidates competing for two seats on the 3rd Circuit Court in the general election on November 6, 2012. He was elected with 34.91% of the vote to a partial term, expiring on January 1, 2015. [5]
