Recall of local elected officials in Vermont is allowed in some jurisdictions. WCAX 3 found that 16 towns in the state have charter amendments allowing for the recall of local officials. As of October 2021, only one town had used its recall provision to remove an elected official from office.[1]

Can you recall a federal official?
The U.S. Constitution does not provide for recall of any elected federal official. Although some state constitutions have stated that their citizens have the right to recall members of the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Supreme Court has not ruled on whether this is constitutional at the federal level.
