LeBaron Bradford Colt (1846-1924) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit, the United States Circuit Courts for the First Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. He joined the United States Circuit Courts for the First Circuit in 1884 after an appointment from Chester Arthur and was transitioned to the new court in 1891. He joined the District of Rhode Island in 1881 after an appointment from James Garfield. He served until February 7, 1913 when he left office to serve as a United States Senator from Rhode Island. He passed away on August 18, 1924.[1]

Judicial career

First Circuit

Colt was nominated to the United States Circuit Courts for the First Circuit by President Chester Arthur on July 2, 1884. He was confirmed by the Senate on Senate on July 5, 1884 and received commission that same day. On June 16, 1891, he was reassigned to the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit. He resigned on February 7, 1913.[1]

District of Rhode Island

Colt was nominated to the District of Rhode Island by President James Garfield on March 9, 1881. He was confirmed by the Senate on March 21, 1881 and received commission that same day. He served on this court until July 23, 1884. Cold was succeeded in this position by George Moulton Carpenter.[1]
