LeRoy Robinson
LeRoy Robinson (Democratic Party) is a member of the Indianapolis City Council, representing District 1. He assumed office in 2012. His current term ends on January 1, 2028.
Robinson (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Indianapolis City Council to represent District 1. He won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Robinson was elected to the council as an at-large member in 2011. When the four at-large seats on the city council expired in 2015, he won election to the District 1 seat.[1][2]
Biography
Robinson's professional experience includes working as an administrator in the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township. He taught at Pike High School and in the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township. He was a member of the Indianapolis Public Schools Board of Commissioners. He has also worked as a newspaper columnist, radio host and television host.[3]

2015
The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[4] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[5]
In the Democratic primary election for District 1, LeRoy Robinson defeated Angela Mansfield.[6] Brian Jones (R) filed to run after the primary. Robinson defeated Jones in the general election.[7] Incumbent Jose M. Evans (R) did not run for re-election.[8]
