Leanne Johnson (Republican Party) is a judge for Place 3 of the Texas Ninth District Court of Appeals. She assumed office in 2013. Her current term ends on December 31, 2030.
Johnson (Republican Party) ran for re-election for the Place 3 judge of the Texas Ninth District Court of Appeals. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Johnson was appointed by Governor Rick Perry (R) on November 13, 2013. She was the first female justice to serve on this court.[1][2]
Biography
Education
Johnson received her B.S. in political science from Southern Arkansas University in 1983 and her J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1986.[3]
Career
Johnson began her career as a clerk for U.S. District Court Judge Nauman Scott of the Western District of Louisiana. She spent 26 years as an attorney prior to her judicial appointment in 2013. She was a senior partner of Orgain, Bell and Tucker LLP at the time of her appointment.[3][1]
