Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) appointed Le Mon to the court on July 9, 2021. Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Le Mon's appointment on July 9, 2021, identified her as a Democrat.[1]
