Leaphart retires from Montana Supreme Court, Baker seeks election

Helena, Montana: Justice Bill Leaphart of the Montana Supreme Court plans to retire at the end of this year. He has served on the Supreme Court since 1995 and has announced that he will not seek election to a third eight-year term. He will retire on December 31, 2010.[1]
Beth Baker, a lawyer in Helena, is running to replace Justice Leaphart on the Supreme Court. She has worked as a lawyer since 1985 and is the first candidate to file for the position.[2]
