Kindlon moved home to Albany and has been involved in the criminal justice system for the past eighteen years. He has been involved in thousands of cases, in both state and federal court, taking more than seventy-five cases to trial, as well as cases on appeal. He has extensive practical knowledge of the workings of the criminal justice system, including experience with the recent discovery, Youth Part and bail reform laws. He also has good working relationships with cops, judges, prosecutors and community leaders and is positioned to bring much needed leadership to the Albany County District Attorney's Office.

Lee remains in the Marine Corps Reserve and will be promoted to Colonel in November 2024. After more than twenty years of leadership and administrative experience, guiding and leading Marines all over the world, Lee Kindlon will rely on this knowledge to benefit the people of Albany County.

It's time to stop making excuses and bring order back to the law in the Albany County District Attorney's Office.
To improve public safety by using all of the tools available to drive down the crime rate, including prosecuting the worst offenders, providing alternatives to incarceration for those who deserve a second chance and supporting rehabilitative efforts for those who have been affected by crime.
The District Attorney must have a strong foundation in criminal law along with a practical working knowledge of how a case can progress through the criminal justice system. Drawing off of that experience, the DA must utilize judgment and wisdom to ensure the proper outcome is achieved in each case.
Judge Advocate, United States Marine Corps. Active duty from 2003-2006.

Accountability and transparency are of paramount importance to Lee Kindlon. Regular audits, to ensure that taxpayer dollars are not wasted and forfeiture funds are allocated for their proper purpose, will be conducted.
