I practiced in Texas for 37 years in state and federal court as well as being involved in cases pending in over 40 states. During that time I have worked with and against many great lawyers and observed fine judges and mediators in action.

Harris County has been my home for over 50 years and I have been involved in community and church activities throughout my life. I graduated from South Texas College of Law where I was part of the National Moot Court Team and also served as an assistance editor for the South Texas Law Review. I received my undergraduate degree from Baylor University with honors.

I have been married to attorney Fred Shuchart for 33 years and we have two adult children and a grandson.
  • I want to bring efficient and effective management to this Court so that cases and being tried and disposed promptly. The Court must be open and active every week and jury trials and hearing must be conducted continually.
  • I will apply the law with consistency so that parties, and their lawyers can make reasonable assessments of the risks or benefits of proceeding to trial.
  • I will be fair to each party and ensure that they are treated justly and in accordance with the law without pre-judging cases for an outcome based result.
Timely justice for the people of Harris County
Time handling of pending cases; solid legal knowledge in order to judge fairly and transparency with parties and lawyers.
When I was 14 months old, I saw First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy on the evening news with her sister, Princess Lee Radziwill. Mrs. Kennedy was paying a visit to India and riding an elephant with her sister. My mother told me that we had the same name. Years later I looked up the date when this occurred and was shocked to realize how young I was. It made me very conscious of the fact that young children remember much more the we realize and that early memories are very important.
Not necessarily. It is more important that a lawyer who seeks to be a judge have experience in trying cases which is the foundation for ruling in a trial as well as experience in managing people to create and efficient and effective process for getting the docket moving
