Campaign themes

2017

Webster highlighted the following statement on his campaign website:

As a citizen, voter, father and grandfather who has benefited from public education in Wausau and who has a grandaughter in the Wausau Schools, I believe it's time for me to give back. The local control and parental input that is so important to quality education has eroded. The fundamental, conservative values and principles that have made Wausau great have been stripped away. It is time for our School Board to listen to local citizens and educators rather that follow guidelines that are pushed on them from bureaucrats in Washington. I am a long term Wausau resident and business owner with four decades of work in mental health. I've learned to recognize the needs of children and parents. As a graduate of the first Leadership Wausau Class, active community and church member I care greatly about the future of Wausau. Some of the trends in public education alarm me as they do parents, teachers and community leaders. I will appreciate your vote on April 4.[5]
