The Legislative Budget Committee is a former joint standing committee of the Mississippi State Legislature. The committee is made up of six senators and six representatives, all committee chairs or chamber leaders.[1]
According the joint rules of the Mississippi State Legislature, a chairman and vice chairman for Senate members serving on joint committees are appointed by the Senate president, and a chairman and vice chairman for House members are appointed by the speaker of the House. A chairman and vice chairman for each joint committee are elected by committee members, but they must not both be from the same chamber.[2]
