Leigh Frizzell Hayes

Leigh Frizzell Hayes is a judge of the Twentieth Circuit Court in Florida. She was appointed by Governor Rick Scott (R) on February 5, 2016, and succeeded Judge R. Thomas Corbin after his retirement on March 31, 2016.[1]
Hayes was a judge on the Lee County Court from 1997 to 2016.[2]
Education
Hayes received an A.A. degree from Stephens College, a B.A. from Indiana University, an M.A. from the University of South Florida and a J.D. from Emory University.[2]
Career
Hayes began her career in 1989 as a staff attorney in the 20th Judicial Circuit. She was also appointed to the position of hearing officer in 1991. By the time of her election to the county court in 1996, she was a senior staff attorney.[2]
2012 election
