I'm a mother, lawyer, and partner in an agritourism business who graduated from UGA with a BA in art history and then from Emory Law School. My husband, Eric, and I chose to raise our three daughters in southern Hall County because we believe it to be a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. I am running to ensure that my kids and future generations will have an even brighter future and will choose to raise their kids here too.

As a family, we are concerned with how to ensure the best education for our kids, how to access the best healthcare within our means, and how to make sure our kids are safe. At the capitol, I will fight for these issues and more. I will work hard to bring practical solutions that benefit our local families and the State of Georgia.

We are native North Georgians, and we chose to raise our family in Flowery Branch because we love the small town feel and the close-knit neighborhoods. We attend First Presbyterian in Gainesville, and I enjoy volunteering in the community, and loving on our two adopted pups, John Lemon and Jon Snow.

  • I will stand for access to quality, affordable healthcare in Georgia, with a particular focus on expanding Medicaid and making prescription drugs more affordable for families.
  • I will fight to fully fund our schools and to provide equal educational opportunities for all.
  • I will work hard to protect our environment, especially Lake Lanier, and to promote green energy and green manufacturing to energize the industry that is the largest employer in GA HD30.
One of my key issues is the affordability of prescription drugs. When my oldest child was 3, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. We already had expensive private insurance, and we quickly found that a little vial of insulin, needed to keep my daughter alive, was costing us an additional $500 a month. I've found that states such as Illinois and Minnesota have successfully placed price caps on drugs like insulin and epi-pens, and I will fight to see that Georgians can afford their prescription medications as well.

My family also is focused on education. With three kids attending public schools, I've come to find that schools must be fully funded and given flexibility for each child to have an equal opportunity to learn.
Moreover, I am a strong advocate of Georgia's HOPE scholarship program because I couldn't have gone to college without it.

We are also concerned with leaving behind a healthy environment for our kids. I believe water discharge limits should be frequently evaluated and regularly enforced by fines and measures that incentivize violators to make long term changes. I also believe that we should provide incentives for all to adopt green practices. I am ready to fight for this at the capitol.

Finally, I will fight to put the voters first. Voting should be an easy and accessible process for all who are eligible, and political boundaries should not be gerrymandered by either party. It is my job to listen to you, and I look forward to doing so.
My first job was working at the burger joint, Fuddrucker's. I worked there throughout high school. There were two female managers, and they taught us young kids the importance of hard work, time management, and how to build a team of people that you can delegate to and trust.
