Leon Anthony Dever
Leon Anthony Dever was a Utah Third Judicial District judge for the Salt Lake City Justice Court in Salt Lake County.[1] Judge Dever was first appointed to this position in August of 1995.[2] He retired on November 1, 2014.[3]
Education
Dever received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law School in 1975.[2]
Career
After earning his degree, he worked for the firm of Stephens & Associates in Houston. He then worked as a solo practitioner in Salt Lake. From 1978 to 1982, he was a prosecutor for the Salt Lake County Attorney's office. He then worked as partner of the law firm of McRae & DeLand from 1982. 1987. He served as assistant attorney general and deputy solicitor general from 1987 to 1995. Dever was appointed to the Utah Third Judicial District Court in August of 1995.[2] He retired on November 1, 2014.[3]
