Leonard Bollingham
Leonard Bollingham was an independent candidate for Governor of Louisiana in the 2011 election.[1] He lost to incumbent Republican Bobby Jindal in the October 22, 2011 primary election.
Biography
Bollingham is a network analyst at Louisiana State University. He earned a B.S. in petroleum engineering from Louisiana Tech University, an M.S. in systems/computer science, an MBA from Louisiana State University and a Doctorate of Science in information technology and systems engineering from Louisiana State University.[2]
Issues
In a candidate questionnaire submitted to the Times-Picayune, Bollingham identified the following priorities:
- jump-start the oil industry and drilling with our own teams of inspectors
- work smarted to fix roads, bridges, parks and other state infrastructure
- improve state's educational experiences from the ground up
- work with the legislature and every party to make Louisiana the best state it can be[3]
Elections
2011
The Louisiana Gubernatorial election of 2011 was decided on October 22, 2011 in the primary election. Incumbent Republican Bobby Jindal captured more than 50 percent of the vote in the blanket primary, winning re-election outright. The Louisiana general election was held Saturday, November 19, 2011 but the office of governor did not appear on the ballot.[4]
