Leonard Braman
Leonard Braman was a judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He was appointed to the court in 1970 and took senior status in 1985.[1]
Education
Braman received his undergraduate degree from Temple University in 1949 and his LL.B. from the University of Virginia in 1952.[1]
Military service
Before attending college, Braman served as a flight officer in the United States Army Air Corps.[1]
Career
Braman began his legal career as a clerk for Chief Judge E. Barrett Prettyman on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. In 1953, he became an assistant United States attorney for the District of Columbia. In 1954, he won a Bigelow Teaching Fellowship at the University of Chicago Law School, where he worked for one year. After returning to D.C., Braman joined the firm Newmyer and Bress. In 1961, he began working for the firm Bress, Braman and Hilmer. In 1965, Braman became a partner with Surrey, Karasik, Greene and Hill.[2][1]
