Leonard Devaney
Leonard R. Devaney III was a superior court judge for the Fourth Judicial District in Bethel, Alaska.[1] Judge Devaney was appointed on February 27, 2002 by Governor Tony Knowles.[2] He resigned on June 30, 2012.[3]
Education
Judge Devaney graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science in 1979. In 1990 he graduated from the University of Montana School of Law with a J.D.[4]
Career
- 1989-1990: He was a librarian at the University of Montana School of Law and was also the head legal intern at the Missoula County Attorney's Office in Montana.
- 1990-1991: He was an assistant attorney general7assistant district attorney for the State of Alaska Department of Law in Nome, Alaska.
- 1991-1993: He was a tribal law specialist with Kawerak Inc.
- 1993-2002: He was in private practice at his law office in Nome.[4]
