Leonard D. Wexler was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. At the time of appointment, he was a private practice attorney in New York. He joined the court in 1983 after an appointment from Ronald Reagan. He assumed senior status on June 30, 1994.[1] Wexler passed away on March 31, 2018.[2]

Education

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Wexler earned his B.S. from Indiana University in 1947, and his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1950.[1]

Military career

Wexler served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945.[1]

Wexler was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on May 11, 1983, to a seat vacated by George Pratt. He was confirmed by the Senate on June 22, 1983, and received commission the same day. He assumed senior status on June 30, 1994.[1] Wexler was succeeded in this position by Nina Gershon.
