Education
Castro received his B.S. in business and management from the University of Maryland, University College, in 1988, and later received his J.D. from Northern Illinois University, College of Law in 1992.[2]
Career
Castro's last job before becoming judge was as the managing attorney for the Second Judicial District Public Defender’s Office. He was responsible for the management of daily operations that consisted of all misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases in St. Paul and the suburban area courts. Castro also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Saint Thomas School of Law.[2]
