The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[1] Kenneth Walker defeated Leroy Lacy and Bulus E. Leflore Jr. in the Democratic primary. R. Dewayne Gill was unopposed in the Republican primary. Walker defeated Gill in the general election.
