I am an Air Force veteran, retired small business owner, retired journeyman electrician and a very dedicated family man with eight wonderful grandchildren. My ancestors came to Oregon early in the last century, and I, myself, returned here to my Oregon roots in 1988. I sincerely believe in supporting our community and have been active with many local organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Brookings Food Bank, Brookings VFW, the school career program, Festival of Lights, feeding the homeless, and many other vital community projects. Throughout my life, I have sought to be an involved and contributing citizen in each of the cities and states I have lived in, working to improve those communities, keeping them safe and making them a little better for all. I assure you, I deeply care about our quality of life here in Oregon.
When elected to the state senate, I vow to closely listen to the residents of our district and seek your ideas, complaints and concerns to be a true representative for all of my constituents.
  • Balancing much needed environmental legislation with the complex issues of labor. Oregon must not export jobs and it's control over the pollution
  • The 2nd amendment is crucial for our country's security and gun safety laws must keep Oregonians safe from horrific killings by the few.
  • Healthcare for all should be a right and not a privilege. Healthcare in rural Oregon is pathetic and needs funding to resolve shortages.
Climate change is real and action must be taken. Balancing much needed environmental legislation with the complex issues of labor. Oregon must not export jobs and it's control over the pollution.

Equal rights for all regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sex, gender identification, age or disability.
Single payer healthcare system that gives equal access to healthcare to all.
Pro choice, securing a woman's right to choose pregnancy options and have full access included in healthcare coverage.
The 2nd amendment is crucial for our country's security and gun safety laws must keep Oregonians safe from horrific killings by the few.
Rural high speed internet is essential to our state's infrastructure. A priority to keep our rural communities safe, informed and economically prosperous.
Affordable housing and housing for the homeless needs to be a priority.
Protecting our veterans, healthcare, housing and suicide prevention.

Education and training to build a skilled labor workforce should be a concerted effort with organized labor to ensure family wage jobs for all.

When elected to the state senate, I vow to closely listen to the residents of our district and seek your ideas, complaints and concerns to be a true representative for all of my constituents.
I will work to enact responsible and sensible legislation that considers not just today's residents, but future generations as well.

The Cuban missle crisis was the first historical event that happened in my life that I remember. I recall the fright that came over everyone as we went through the drill at school. The sad awaken that the world could come to an end if countries could not get along.
The reality of a nuclear attack. The attitude was to place your head between your knees and kiss your a>> goodbye. Glad those days are behind and now we face the Climate change. Hope we don't put our heads in the sand to ignore the problem.
Lady in Red, by Chris De Burgh. Reminds me of my loving wife.
Oregon residents deserve to elected officials that have experience from the real world. I believe in term limits for politicians. For a more efficient Government we must elect individuals with business experience who know that every dollar must be accounted for. That there are costs to each legislation unrecognized by the legislator, but paid by businesses and workers alike.
Climate change is real and action must be taken. Balancing much needed environmental legislation with the complex issues of labor. Oregon must not export it's jobs along with it's control over the pollution.

I will strive to balance the much needed environmental legislation with the complex issues of labor. I will consider the economic impacts of legislation on all Oregon residents and businesses that we all depend on for our livelihood. I will faithfully balance our need for good jobs and a strong state economy with our responsibility to protect the health of our planet. I will work to enact responsible and sensible legislation that considers not just today's residents, but future generations as well.
Labor and business is very important to me. I highly support organized labor and apprenticeship programs that upgrade the skill level of our workforce and elevate the wages of our workers.
I believe that labor needs a role in the climate change legislations to prevent exporting our jobs along with the control of our industries pollution. We must face these challenges with all of the facts and weigh the consequences of our actions or inactions.
