Three of the nine seats on the Toms River Regional Schools school board were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. The Beachwood District incumbent did not file to run for re-election. Daniel Leonard defeated Leslie Brown, and Alexander Mizenko for the seat. In the Pine Beach District, incumbent Russell Corby won re-election by defeating challenger Jennifer Etzkorn. In the race for the unexpired Tom's River District seat, Janet Bell defeated Alfred Shwartz, Al Caporaso and former board member Ginny Rhine to win the seat.[1]
