Leslie G. Foschio is a recalled federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He was first appointed to this court in 1991.[1] He retired and assumed the status of recalled judge in 2007.[2]

Education

Judge Foschio obtained a B.A. degree from the University of Buffalo and an LL.B. degree from the University of Buffalo School of Law.[1]

Career

Judge Foschio began his career in 1966 as legal counsel to the University of Buffalo. He then became an assistant district attorney for Erie County. He joined the faculty of Notre Dame Law School in 1969. He also served as an assistant dean at Notre Dame before he was appointed corporation counsel for the City of Buffalo in 1975. He then worked as a partner in the law firm of Cohen Swados et al. until 1981, when he was appointed the New York State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. In 1983, he became the vice president and general counsel of Barrister Information Systems.

He was appointed to be federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of New York in 1991. He served on the court until 2007. Foschio serves as a recalled magistrate on the court.[1]
