Lester LeFevre Cecil (1893-1982) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Sixth Circuit

Cecil was nominated to the Sixth Circuit by President Dwight Eisenhower on February 17, 1959, to a seat vacated by Potter Stewart; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 15, 1959, and received his commission on July 18th. He served as chief judge from 1962-1963. He assumed senior status on August 1, 1965, and served in that capacity until his death on November 26, 1982.[1]

Southern District of Ohio

Cecil was nominated to the Southern District of Ohio by President Dwight Eisenhower on April 1, 1953, to a seat vacated by Robert Reasoner Nevin; he was confirmed by the Senate on April 23, 1953, and received his commission that same day. He served the Southern District of Ohio until his advancement to the Sixth Circuit on July 28, 1959.[1] Cecil was succeeded in this position by Carl Weinman.
