A special election for the position of Kentucky House of Representatives District 98 was called for March 8. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 19.[1]

The seat was vacant following Tanya Pullin's (D) resignation after she was appointed as an administrative law judge in the state Department of Workers Claims.[2]

Lew Nicholls (D) defeated Tony Quillen (R) in the special election.[3][4]
