Liane Randolph was a member of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the state body charged with regulating the state's utility companies. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) appointed Randolph to a six-year term on December 23, 2014, effective January 2015.[1] She resigned on January 1, 2021, after being appointed to the California Air Resources Board.[2]

Biography

Prior to joining the CPUC, Randolph served in a different Brown-appointed role as deputy secretary and general counsel at the California Natural Resources Agency. Randolph has served as an attorney with a background in municipal law. She practiced at the firm of Pillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw, Pittman and as a city attorney for San Leandro. She also served four years as California Fair Political Practices Commission chair.[3]

Randolph earned a bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.[3]
