This measure sought to replace the current fire levy with one set at a rate of $.18 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township.[2]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| A replacement of a tax for the benefit of LIBERTY TOWNSHIP for the purpose of PROVIDING PROTECTION AGAINST FIRE at a rate not exceeding 1.8 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to EIGHTEEN-CENTS ($0.18) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for FIVE (5) YEARS, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3] |
