Mikie Sherrill (D) appointed Laux New Jersey Commissioner of Education on February 4, 2026, to replace Kevin Dehmer (Nonpartisan).[1] She served in an acting capacity until she was confirmed by the New Jersey Senate to the position on February 24, 2026.[2]
