I have been an attorney for over 30 years and have the wide range and extensive legal experience which makes me uniquely qualified to serve as a judge of the Lorain Municipal Court. I have tried cases to juries at the felony and misdemeanor levels and worked for over 20 years as a prosecutor. I have also worked as an assistant law director, as a Guardian Ad Litem for children, a criminal defense attorney, and served as an Acting Judge in the Lorain Municipal Court. I worked daily with law enforcement and served as the first Legal Advisor to the Lorain Police Department

Since 2017, I have been the Magistrate to the Lorain Municipal Court, working in the courtroom for the communities of Lorain, Sheffield Lake, and Sheffield Township. During this time, I have handled in excess of twenty thousand, (20,000). I have the depth of experience we need in our Judges.

I interact with our community, law enforcement, and court personnel on an ongoing basis and understand the value of applying the law in a fair and impartial way to the facts of each case so that all members of our community can feel safe and respected.
  • Based on my overall experience, training and qualifications, I feel that I am the best candidate for the position of Judge of the Lorain Municipal Court.
  • Recently, I received the “Highly Recommended” rating by the Lorain County Bar Association following its 2025 Judicial Poll, and also received the ranking of Highly Recommended in all five individual categories; integrity/character, commitment/efficiency, judicial temperament, independence and legal capacity, which contributed to my overall ranking. As the ratings are only to be given by members of the legal community based on direct experience, and I have been working as the Magistrate for the past 7 years, these results were truly an honor. If I am elected Judge of the Lorain Municipal Court, I will strive to continue to operate my Courtroom in the same manner to which these results were generated.
  • I believe strongly in giving back to the community. I am a former Board Member of Lorain County Children’s Services where I helped to make sure that LCCS operated in a manner consistent with its mission of supporting the safety and well-being of abused, neglected, and dependent children. I am also a past president of the Former Lorain County branch of Altrusa International, focusing on literacy and working to combat illiteracy in our community through programs like the Little Libraries.
Our Courts must remain open and accessible to all people. Currently, one of the biggest challenges facing Lorain Municipal Court is mental health.

Recently, the Court has witnessed an increase in individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The Court must work to find adequate solutions that address the mental health concerns of these individuals in a way that ensures they have full access to our legal system while also protecting our community by helping to prevent incidents of recidivism.

Moving forward, increased training for Court personnel, supplemented by a program that provides improved services and oversight for those impacted, will help ensure that individuals who need assistance can get the services they need.
To ensure that all people who come before the court, or who have an experience in the Court are treated with respect and the fair and impartial application of the law.
I would like anyone who comes into a Court in which I am sitting to know that they had the opportunity to be heard and to present their case such that a fair and impartial decision was reached.
I remember attending the Inauguration of President Carter in 1976. I have been a Democrat my entire life and recall going to Washington to witness President Carter being sworn in. I was not yet in my teens and I can still remember the spirit of what it meant to be an American that was in the crowds during the Inauguration, which took place in 1976, the same year as the Bicentennial of our Country.
I believe that Judges must apply the laws as written in a fair and impartial manner so that everyone who comes before the Court knows that they have been heard, and had their day in Court.
Highly Recommended - 2025 Lorain County Bar Association Judicial Poll.

I received the ranking of Highly Recommended in all five individual categories; integrity/character, commitment/efficiency, judicial temperament, independence and legal capacity, which contributed to my overall rating of Highly Recommended.
The ratings are only to be given by members of the legal community based on direct personal experience. Since I have been working as the Magistrate for the past 7 years, I believe that these results represent an accurate reflection of my ability.
All government offices belong to the people and should be accountable and transparent with respect to finances.
