Bernard ran for re-election to the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners to represent District 2 in Michigan. She was disqualified from the primary scheduled on August 5, 2025.
Biography
Bernard received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in 1970, her J.D. its Law School in 1973, and a LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975.[1] Bernard has been an attorney in private practice since 2001.[1]

2012
Bernard advanced from the primary election on August 7th, winning 13.05% of the vote. She was defeated in the general election on November 6, receiving 23.19% of the vote.[4][5][6]
