Linda Calhoun moved to Red River in 1978 and was elected its first woman mayor in 2006. She is currently serving her fourth term in that position. She is a past President for the New Mexico Municipal League and is the current Vice-Chair for the New Mexico Mayor's Caucus. She was honored to serve on Governor Lujan-Grisham's transition team in 2018. Linda and her husband, Ted, of 26 years, have raised 5 children in Red River and are business owners and active members of the community.
