Linda Chapa LaVia
Linda Chapa LaVia is a former member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 83 from 2003 to 2019. She resigned when she was appointed as the acting director of the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs by Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) in January 2019.[1]
Biography
LaVia earned her B.A. from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1991. Her professional experience includes owning a small business and working as a real estate broker. She served in the United States Army from 1987 to 1991 and the Illinois National Guard from 1991 to 1996.[2]
