Linda Combs
Linda Combs was the North Carolina State Controller. Combs assumed office in 2014. Combs left office on June 30, 2022.
Biography
Combs' career in administration began in 1984 when she joined the U.S. Department of Education as deputy under secretary for management. Combs served in this role until 1986 when she left to found Combs Music. In 1989, Combs joined the U.S. Department of the Treasury as assistant secretary for management, serving until 1991. In 2001, Combs was named as the chief financial officer of the Environmental Protection Agency, and moved to fill the same role at the U.S. Department of Transportation in 2003. In 2005, Combs was named as the Controller of the United States, spending two years in that role. In 2007, Combs joined MorrisonCombs as the firm's chief executive officer.[1]

In June 2014, Combs was nominated as state controller by Gov. Pat McCrory (R). Combs was nominated once more to a six-year term in 2016.[2]
