Linda D. Turner is a senior judge for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She joined the court on September 1990 and retired as an active Associate Judge on December 5, 2008.[1][2][3]

Education

Turner received an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1975 and a J.D. from the Howard University School of Law in 1977.[2]

Career

After receiving a law degree, Turner was a law clerk on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. From 1981 to 1990, Turner worked with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. She served in all the sections within the Superior Court Division and was later promoted to Deputy Chief of the Felon Trial Section. In 1987, Turner became Chief of the Chronic Offender Unit. Two years later, she was elevated to Deputy Chief of the Superior Court Division.[2]
