Linda Garrou
Linda Garrou (January 17, 1943 - March 19, 2022) is a former Democratic member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 32 from 1999 to 2013. She served as State Senate Minority Leader.
Garrou was a candidate for the North Carolina House of Representatives in 1996.
In early 2012 Garrou announced she would not seek re-election in 2012 as a result of new redistricting maps.[1]
Garrou died on March 19, 2022, from a stroke.[2]

Garrou defeated Democratic primary challenger Edward (Ed) Hanes on May 4, 2010.[4]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Garrou won re-election to the 32nd District in the North Carolina State Senate. Garrou had no challenger.[5]

Garrou earned her AA from Sullins College in 1962. She went on to receive his BSED from the University of Georgia in 1964. She then earned her MAT from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1967.
Garrou was a Social Studies Teacher at Jordan High School from 1964 to 1966. She was then an Assistant Administrator for Forsyth County Juvenile Justice Council from 1972 to 1981. She then worked as District Administrator for AOCL from 1987 to 1994. She has been Regional Administrator for AOCL from 1994 to the present.
Garrou has a husband, John.
